Well, I hadn't planned on looking for another job anytime soon because I was rather enjoying the one I was in.

And then they took it away because raising tuition meant that potential students could not afford to make in-school payments when financial aid didn't cover it all. $16,000 for a certificate as opposed to, say, an Associates seems a bit high, anyway.

So, enrollment tanked immediately. I could see it coming for at least the last couple of months. Nothing to be done about it, I suppose. Blerg. There were tears, there were goodbyes. Phone numbers and business cards. The people there really were awesome.

So! I have some extra time for writing, reading and coursework for school. Not the end of the world, just a lot of work to look for a jobby job. lol

I have Rennet to make cheese with. Should probably attempt it at some point, but the debate currently is what sort of milk to start with. 2%. Whole? Raw? Forget skim...

Could be an interesting task and hopefully not disastrous.

I find it amusing and depressing that my books for two classes cost more than those two classes and all the fees associated.

My computer is out to get me, I swear.

I was sitting here, minding my own happy business, when this mystical, dangerous thing popped up, telling me that one of my HDDs was failing. And after a huge popup by something called "WINDOWS RECOVERY", and discovering that it wanted money to fix the problem, I figured that it was less than legitimate. Oh, the sigh.

Hm. No good comes of this, kids. It took away all but two of the icons on my desktop, 95% of my icons on my Start menu were gone.

So, I tried to banish it into the place where all the missing socks go once they escape the dryer. Tried to kill it until it died from it. Even MalwareBytes and my antivirus were defeated. I thought I'd had it, but the next day while I was attempting to figure stuff out in Safe Mode (nobody likes hearing 'Safe Mode'), I discovered it had minions. In Safe Mode.

After grumbling and sighing heavily, I managed to get the majority of files that I wanted to keep off of the C: drive and reinstalled my OS. The bonus is that when you do this, it saves a folder with all the old information in it, just in case something got missed. What's not-so-bonus is that A) all of my bookmark sub-folders are gone (I should just use de.licio.us) and 2) what if that evil fucker is lurking in there and eats through? I would have just wiped the drive, but that's expertise I don't have. But, I didn't murder my computer by tossing it off of a building, and it seems to be doing better. Even though I'm essentially starting from scratch.

In other news, I'm feeling less-than-creative lately. Which is the pits. I really don't want to get into the writer's block slump that I've been in before. It's not pretty, and I get uber cranky. Now that I've a writing journal again, this will hopefully help. I should really find a daily prompt journal.

So! Thanks for adding me, you lovely ladies! I feel welcome and fuzzy and loved. :) It's good to be here.

So, here I am! Time to be all creative! *puts foot down* Yeah!

Well, maybe tomorrow. It is getting late and I am sorta tired. Ah, procrastination. The making or breaking of many great empires.

Hi, [personal profile] mindsplinters! Since, you know, you helped me get here and you are my only reader. ;)
